White Ribbon UK will no longer be using X formerly known as Twitter

White Ribbon UK, the leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women and girl, will no longer maintain an active presence on X (formerly Twitter). This decision reflects our commitment to creating positive cultural change and promoting safe, respectful spaces for dialogue about preventing gender-based violence.

As an organisation focused on Primary Prevention and engaging men as allies, we believe social media platforms should facilitate constructive conversations that advance gender equality and challenge harmful behaviours. Unfortunately, X no longer aligns with these aims.

Anthea Sully, Chief Executive of White Ribbon UK, said: "Our mission centres on creating positive cultural change to prevent violence against women and girls. We must ensure our communication channels reflect this commitment and our values. We will continue our vital work through other social media platforms that support our goals of engaging men and boys in preventing violence against women and girls."

White Ribbon UK will maintain its presence on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, where we encourage our supporters, Ambassadors, Champions, and partner organisations to continue engaging with our work. Our departure from X coincides with White Ribbon Day on November 25th and the UN's 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, reinforcing our dedication to creating safer spaces for everyone.

The White Ribbon X account will remain visible for a period with signposting to our other social media platforms and website, but no new content will be posted.
